Directors at Dezenhall play a crucial role in supporting the development and executing unique communications and advocacy strategies that achieve winning outcomes for our clients.

Client Strategy & Engagement

  • Developing and maintaining client relationships
  • Conceive and execute public affairs programs for clients
  • Project manage complex issue campaigns (local, state, federal, international)
  • Develop and maintain strong media and third-party/advocacy relationships inside and outside of the Beltway
  • Effectively manage client deliverables and budgets
  • Writing effective and persuasive client and third-party deliverables, including messaging documents, narratives, opinion editorials, white papers, memos, creative copy, and more

Business Development

  • Assisting the Dezenhall team to develop new business proposals and participate in potential client pitches and presentations


  • 4 – 8 years of professional experience in political, communications, public affairs or advocacy roles working on political campaigns with elected officials, grassroots organizations, digital media firms, corporate communications teams or public affairs firms.
  • Organized and detail-oriented with the capacity to multitask and prioritize competing priorities
  • Strong writing and presentation skills
  • Understands the role of digital in public affairs campaigns with familiarity to manage social media and website platforms
  • Experience and/or interest in developing digital strategy and assets like websites, social platforms and content, etc.
  • Ability to distill complicated concepts into digestible plans, messaging, presentations and other work products
  • Excels in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
  • Work well as part of a team, as well as independently
  • Ability to take initiative, think and react quickly, and problem solve
  • Understand the ever-changing media and political landscape
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams as well as Google and Zoom platforms
  • Ability to travel as needed
